Disclaimer: I am not a doctor or any other medical provider. Check with your doctor before beginning any workout, exercise, or diet program.
Some of you have resolutions to get healthier this new year. Perhaps you’ve consulted your doctor and worked with me as I’ve increased from 5 minutes to 30 minutes of cardio daily.
Now the quest is to drink eight full glasses of water a day. Again, this is not a task I can do without working toward the goal incrementally. So today, I encourage you–if your doctor has cleared you to do so–to drink eight ounces of water. (Note: I say “check with your doctor” for a reason. I have an aunt who is on dialysis and who cannot drink more than 32 ounces of liquid in a day. Clearly this challenge isn’t for her–and it might not be for you either.)
What I Did
I’ve noticed in the last 2-3 days that I get a bit sweaty after doing cardio each morning. So I went to the refrigerator immediately after my exercise and drank an eight-ounce glass of water. Yes, I used a measuring cup. And just in case you’re wondering, I have this PUR water filter on my faucet.
Whether you drink bottled water (although I would encourage you not to because of the cost and because of the plastic crisis in the world) or tap water (a PUR filter is pretty cheap and worth it, by the way), drink eight ounces of water today. Then you can go back to your coffee, tea, Mountain Dew, etc. We’ll work on those addictions later. Maybe. 🙂
How Did You Do?
