I already suggested putting your Social Security cards and passports in a safe place–you know, just in case you ever need to access them or even to evacuate with them. Today, I suggest putting the birth, death, marriage, and divorce records for your family in the same location.
What I Did
I placed the birth certificates for my husband, my daughter, and myself; and the marriage license for my husband and me in separate page protectors. Then I filed them in a three-ring binder in our watersafe, fire-resistant safe.
Locate your family’s birth, death, marriage, and divorce records and put them in the same safe location you put your Social Security cards and passports in yesterday.
How Did You Do?
Did you file away your important birth, death, marriage, and divorce records? Where are you putting these things? Let me hear from you in the comments!
